More NC Movie News . . .

Its not our intention that the CSC Blog become the entertainment page but there's news of another new movie being made at least partially in NC and about North Carolina politics:



UPDATED: Actors Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis star as North Carolina politicians in a new movie titled "Dog Fight" that will begin production soon.

As reported by the Greensboro News & Record -- which will be featured in the film -- Ferrell describes the movie this way: "It’s basically the story of a small time congressional district in North Carolina, in the south, and I’m the incumbent candidate who’s about to run unopposed for my fifth term. . .

Can we really trust liberal Hollywood to interpret North Carolina politics? Not likely. They'll surely have fun smearing Republicans and trying to make Republican politicians look like Boss Hogg or some version thereof. Even this NewsObserver article takes a swipe at Jesse Helms which probably sets the tone for the entire movie project. But let's give them a chance hoping to be pleasantly surprised. This should be entertaining and good for the growing NC film industry.
