Rep. Tim Scott Introduces the Employee Rights Act . . .

We at CSC Blog applaud our pal Congressman Tim Scott (R-SC) for taking a stand (along with Sen Orrin Hatch) "for" U.S. private sector workers. Working folks should have the right to choose, while on the job, whether they'll represent themselves directly before management or whether they'll hand over that control of their lives to some union boss. Along with expensive monthly union dues.

Write your congressperson and ask them to support the Employee Rights Act.

Way to go Congressman Tim! 'Bout time someone took the initiative. Next step? Defund the NLRB...

Was the Thief Wearing a Hoodie?

Cary, North Carolina: Heartwrenching story. As if this little guy doesn't have enough challenges. His dream of bringing wheelchair basketball to his buds at Briarcliff Elementary School will certainly get a boost from this publicity. I'll wager you that by this time next week Nolan Turner will have a surplus. Enough for several wheelchair b-ball games.

Obama is "Evolving" on the Same-Sex Marriage Issue

And the 1st stage of that evolution has begun right here in North Carolina. President Obama has gone on the record - against SB 106, Defense of Marriage Act. Again, another real-time indication that NC is indeed a super battle ground state.

The Presidents spokes-folks state that, "the President remains personally opposed to same-sex marriage but is said to be evolving on the issue". What?

We at CSC believe that this revelation is great for the NC GOP. NC remains a very conservative state. Many conservative NC Democrats, with news like this, will finally convince themselves that the time has come to pull the lever for straight GOP ticket.

Certain smaller species in nature have learned to pump themselves up to appear larger. A form of self defense. That's what NC Progressives have done. And, apparently, Obama and the democrats have fallen for it.

Lin Sanity . . .

SNL has a little fun with the Jeremy Lin craze. There's something about this video that I liked seeing. Seems that many in the younger generation are getting weary of ultra-hypersensitivity and big chips on shoulders. And I appreciate all 4 of these funny guys for having the courage to convey that. Thanks to deadspin.com, too.

Enjoy video here. . .

Did Newt Dis the Gipper?

Today the big news attack against Newt is coming directly from the GOP establishment. An impatient, young Congressman Newt obviously felt that the Reagan admin was being too over cautious and moving way too slow in its battle against communism in 3rd world countries like Nicaragua. Mr Abrams does admit, though, that Newt "voted with the President regularly". And I have to believe that Reagan must have had some fondness for Newt in a grandfatherly way.

I do believe this account by Mr Abrams. Newt continues to have that "impatience" although its now tempered with age. More mature and controlled. But its still there and millions of middle Americans share that frustration and impatience with Newt. If we are an exceptional nation, why don't we start conducting ourselves as such? Why do we continue to kowtow to world opinion and world governing bodies?

It'd be fun to get some discussion going about this. Please feel free to comment.

Is Romney Electable? Not So Fast. . .

Whoever the GOP nominee is, they're going to get my enthusiastic support. Even if its Mitt Romney. That doesn't necessarily make Mitt electable. Fitsnews.com makes a fairly good argument here that he will not be all that electable . . .

There’s a generally-accepted notion that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is the most “electable” Republican running for president in 2012.
In fact, that underlying notion pretty much defines
his support.
Ask most Romney backers why they’re voting for him and they’ll tell you “we need someone who can beat Barack Obama.”
These people don’t particularly like or trust Romney, mind you, they’ve just been led to believe that his nomination is the key to getting rid of Obama and undoing things like Obamacare – which is especially ironic (and especially ignorant) in light of Romney’s prior support for
socialized medicine.

The Angst-Ridden Electorate . . .

I spotted this article posted on Townhall.com. Written by Erica Werner of the AP. I love her term "the angst-ridden electorate", and I'm assuming she coined the phrase. Those 3 words, in my view, describe why this election cycle is far different than any we've had in the past couple of decades. Ms Werner does a fine job of painting a picture of the true situation, in my view. As phrases such as "income inequality" and "the widening gap between rich/poor" keep being tossed about by both sides (especially the dem's), the Gallop poll that Ms Werner cites debunks these charges by showing clearly that Mom/Pop middle America are not envious, jealous nor do they begrudge the rich their riches. But rather they simply want to return to a fat job market with lots of medium to high paying jobs for themselves and those closest to them.

So, try as they may, the dem's just aren't having much success in their efforts to beat the drums of class warfare.
