We here at Politics Today Blog have been scratching our heads in amazement at this extraordinary election cycle we're in the midst of. Its almost as if we need to toss out what we've learned and start from scratch. Now Rasmussen has peeled back the onion layers even more and with his help -- look at what we've discovered:

Nearly one-half (48%) of Likely U.S. Voters now say Obama is the politician whose endorsement would be least likely to make them vote for a candidate. The president owes his “lead” over others largely because Republicans are united in their opposition to the president. Democrats are evenly divided between former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and former President George W. Bush as the least valuable endorser.

As we at Politics Today blog see it, candidates that will have the most success in this election season will be those who can stand on their own, be bold and most of all be independent.
