The Endorsement That Matters Most: That of The Voter in the Voting Booth On Election Day

We here at Politics Today Blog have been scratching our heads in amazement at this extraordinary election cycle we're in the midst of. Its almost as if we need to toss out what we've learned and start from scratch. Now Rasmussen has peeled back the onion layers even more and with his help -- look at what we've discovered:

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Nearly one-half (48%) of Likely U.S. Voters now say Obama is the politician whose endorsement would be least likely to make them vote for a candidate. The president owes his “lead” over others largely because Republicans are united in their opposition to the president. Democrats are evenly divided between former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and former President George W. Bush as the least valuable endorser.

As we at Politics Today blog see it, candidates that will have the most success in this election season will be those who can stand on their own, be bold and most of all be independent.

North Carolina Unemployment - Not What We Wanted But What We Expected . . .

"Another round of government job losses during September sent the state's jobless rate to its highest level in 17 months, the N.C. Employment Security Commission reported Friday.

The rate increased 0.1 percentage point to 10.5 percent.

The state experienced a loss of 22,200 jobs during September compared with August, of which 13,700 were government jobs. Over the past 12 months, there has been a reduction of 18,700 government jobs."

The gravity of this NC jobs report is sobering to the extreme especially knowing that the holidays are approaching and with so many of our fellow North Carolinians unemployed and under-employed. Our heart goes out to them and their families.

Economist Art Laffer: Cain's 999 = Wonderful!

Where are those GOP candidates who tried to make light of Herman Cain's "Nan Nan Nan" plan during the last debate? I'll tell you - they're at the bottom of the heap looking up at "the Cain Mutiny". Seems like everywhere you look "The Herman" is riding high in the polls. Especially now with enthusiastic praise for 999 from this high profile economist: ( LINK )

Its really hard to use the term Cinderella Story in the same breath with Herman Cain. I mean, Herman's a manly man. No frilly dresses. No glass slippers on his feet. Maybe a pair of glass wingtips, huh?

We here at CSC Blog are happy to the extreme for Mr. Cain "but" we get paid to be a bit skeptical remembering that its more than a year until the election. Never underestimate the dirt digging main stream media and the democrat party.

That being said, 3 cheers for Herman for at least getting this far and we love the fact that the guy doesn't apologize and he doesn't back down.

Do Your Part for the North Carolina Economy! Drink a Locally Brewed Beer...

CSC Blog would like to salute the Hoffner Family, the River Bend Malt House and assorted designer / micro breweries in Rowan, surrounding counties and throughout NC. Now this is hope 'n change that we can get excited about. Beer! These innovative entrepreneurs probably wouldn't have come up with these ideas in a sane economy. You gotta love a rags to riches story like this . . .

The Hoffners's of Rowan County. . .

SALISBURY — A small farm in western Rowan County has found a new way to make money and promote local agriculture.

Western Rowan County farmers Alan “Buddy” Hoffner and son, Chris, are growing barley for Asheville-based startup Riverbend Malt House.

There, it will be processed into malt, sold to local brewers and made into beer . . .

The Fix is in! And Perdue Likely on Her Way Out...

From Chris Cillizza's "The Fix", 10/7/2011:

"1. North Carolina (D): Gov. Bev Perdue (D) was the most endangered incumbent in the country even before she suggested recently that the best way to solve the current economic problems facing the country would be to "suspend congressional elections for two years". Perdue’s explanation — she was joking! — didn’t ring true, and the story drew her negative headlines not just in North Carolina but nationally. Perdue has proven to be an awkward public presence since beating McCrory in 2008. McCrory is back for a rematch and polling suggests that he starts the race as a favorite. (Previous ranking: 1)"

And this isn't even factoring in Project Soccer ( link ) which we believe will triple/compound Gov Perdue's predicament. Project Soccer will "not" simply fade away as NC democrats and the Governor hope . . .

Project Soccer-Gate: Perdue's Play-To-Play-Politics Costs Brunswick/Columbus Cty Over 1000 Jobs...

CSC Blog would like to give Senate Pro Tem Phil Berger a standing ovation for correctly branding this corrupt process that has caused North Carolina (and especially southeast NC) to lag behind the entire nation in economic development:

Senate Pro Tem Phil Berger, R-Rockingham, said it was Perdue’s “pay-to-play-politics” that caused Continental Tire to choose South Carolina.

“We worked in good faith with the Perdue administration for six months to develop a responsible proposal to attract these jobs. We went to great lengths to reach an agreement, but we also had several serious concerns—including the governor’s plan that would line the pockets of her political supporters. Since August, we’ve tried to convince her administration that this deal reeked of cronyism—a fact they chose to ignore,” Berger said.

“Now, pay-to-play politics has cost our state more than 1,000 new jobs. This is embarrassing for North Carolina. It’s this kind of incompetence and unethical behavior that has disgraced Democrat politician after Democrat politician in North Carolina. And we will not allow the state to do business like this anymore.”

Senator Berger, you rock! And a big thanks to reporterette Caroline Curran!

Exposed in Brunswick Cty: Perdue's "Project Soccer-Gate".....

Ever wondered why real-time economic development seems to shy away from southeast North Carolina? We challenge you to read through this brilliant piece put together by Michael Biesecker and Gary D. Robertson of the Associated Press and published in the StarNews.

It shines a spotlight on a tangled web of corruption, deceit and democrat "cash-under-the-table" politics as usual in North Carolina (and especially the southeast sector). And this one stretches all the way up to Gov "Lets Cancel Elections" Perdue.

This thing stinks to high heaven...
